Sephora Favorites Kits

I recently got two limited edition makeup kits from Sephora, they were $25 each, both from the sephora favorites line. One is the Meet Your Match, the other is the Lash Stash To Go. I always love kits and sets from sephora, I think they are great value and you get to try several different products. These little kits are so nicely packaged and I love the bright color combination. Besides my purchases, I also received some perfume samples, which is a bonus.

The Meet Your Match kit has three nail polishes and matching lip products, all from different brand. I love the idea of matching lips and nails. This kit has a dark pink, a coral and a nude color set. The color selection is very nice in my opinion and I can't wait to try them.
Bite Beauty lush fruit lip gloss, DeborahLlippmann nail lacquer in girls just want to have fun, Formula X nail color in invinvible, Hourglass extreme sheen high shine lip gloss in child, Nails Inc. devonshire row nail polish, Tarte lip surgence lip tint in elite

The Lash Stash To Go kit contains five sample size mascara. I am most excited about this set because I wanted to try couple of them for very long time. This set also includes a mascara voucher that you can use to get a full size mascara of your choice in this kit from sephora.  This set only cost $25 and a full size Lancome Hypnose mascara is $27. I think it is such a great value. It's like getting these samples for free.
Bare Minrals lash domination volumizing mascara, Lancome hypnose drame mascara, Tarte lights camera lashes 4-in-1 mascara, Blinc Inc. blinc mascara, Too Faced better than sex mascara

I am really enjoy getting these little sets and very excited to try all of them, if you haven't been to sephora recently, I highly recommend you go. They are putting out a lot of new products and cute little gift sets and kits from makeup to skincare and fragrance. Some of the sets I'm interested: SummerStash, Skin Blender Vol. 1

All For Fall

Let's start from the makeup category. For base makeup, previously I was using Covergirl outlast 3 in 1 foundation. It works out very well for the past summer until recently. It started oxidize on me after a few hours wear and it did't hold well like it used to. I don't know about you but this happens to me with a lot foundation, they oxidize, turns color after open to use around six months or so. Anyway, it's about time to switch to something else to use. (I almost finished the whole bottle anyway.)

Right now I have the Revlon ColorStay Foundation and Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream for my base.  It doesn't take much effort for me to pick these two because you know, they've been out for quite some times and everybody loves it.
For eyes, I just got another Maybelline Color Tatto Eye Shadow  in bad to the bronze. I have mentioned this thing none-stop on my blog and that proves how much I liked it. Really surprised that they didn't dry out after this long(until I can finish it). Btw, I also hit pan on the other color Barely Branded.
For lips I have four new colors to wear. Maybelline Color Whisper in strike a rose, Revlon lip butter in berry smoothie, L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in wisteria rose and everbloom. The maybelline color whisper one feels nice and hydrating, the color just a sheer coral/pink color with shimmer and a sheen to it. Revlon's berry smoothie is the color I wanted to get for fall after watching emilynovl83 talked about it on YouTube. The two L'oreal lipstick I spotted them on sale at Walgreens. The minute I open it I know for sure I wanted it. The colors are what I'm looking for, medium-toned pink and coral, totally matte and the color payoff is good.
Skin care wise, I have two products, a brightening serum and a night cream. They both from Lumene, my favorite skincare brand from the drugstore. So far I only tried the serum a few times, like other lumene serum I've used, it has a nice consistency, absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any heaviness behind. I will update you on both of the products if you are interested. (Let me know in the comment.)
I also got couples of the Thayers Alcohol Free Toner as backup because I go through those so quickly. They are gentle enough for me to use everyday both morning and night, even during season change and for the super affordable price, I can't not be more satisfied.

How's your fall preparation? Makeup, skincare, life? I'm currently super busy with my midterm.

Have a good one and thanks for reading.

Makeup & Skincare Haul

Hello, today I have a haul to share, things that I got for the past one or two weeks. If you read my previous post then you probably know how much I love the Shiseido sunscreen.  I was at TJmaxx the other day,  sweeping the skin and makeup section as usual and I saw the Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion, SPF38.  This is the lotion version for both face & body(100ml, 3.3fl. oz.) since I am almost running out of my current one, which is the cream one ( for face, 50ml, 2fl. oz.) so I figure to give it a try. The texture of this is very runny and liquidy, easy to spread and apply very thin to the skin. It works quite similar to the cream one, however you will need to shake it well before using and the package design makes it a little messy when pouring it out.

Next I got the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and Clean Express Waterproof Makeup Remover. I wasn't quite sure about which color I should get because it's very hard to tell the color in the store. No.10 light looks little dark for my skin tone so I ended up pick 15 fair but turns out it's not the shade I want to use to conceal my dark circles. Anyway, it works quite well conceal the rest imperfections on my face.
I also pick up the Too Faced Shadow Insurance from ulta since it was on special for $10 . I'm glad that the Ulta 21 days of beauty is back, last time I didn't have time to go and there's couple of things that I want to get. This time I'm really excited because I saw some awesome products on special for half off.

Last but not least, these are some facial masks by the brand My Scheming. I got these last week from a beauty store at Flushing, NY. I remember seeing these online but never tried it before so I got three different ones to try. These masks are very similar to My Beauty Diary Mask. So far I only tried the Bamboo Charcoal + Volcano Mud Extract Pore Minimizing Mask. My experience is quite positive on this one.  It smells really good and fits my face well. It hydrates and tightens my skin at the same time and I do see the difference of my pores after using it.

Hope you like my haul and thanks for reading!

A Weekend Haul

Eyeing the makeup shelves while I was getting the necessaries from the store. I feel like I needed something but I just couldn't think about what it is. Finally I figured out it is the heat protecting spray and I was in the wrong section, no wonder! "Well, well, let's just spend some time here since we're already in the makeup section." This is usually what would happen to me when I'm in the store and yes, I ended up bring in home something with me.

For the past two months or so, Revlon's Pink in the Afternoon is almost what I am wearing everyday on my lips. Although it is a gorgeous pink and suits me very well, but I'm tired of putting on the same old thing everyday. Really craving for some new lip colors to wear and here are the ones that I picked up.

NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie
Finally a true nude lip color for me!   I rarely buying nude lipstick because I barely use them. They are just not the preferable color for me and I was having hard time finding one to love. So far the nude I'm still using and loving is Revlon Soft Nude.  Pumpkin Pie is a peachy, corally nude color with a hint of pink in it. The texture makes it apply effortlessly, almost like a lip balm. I think hydrating isn't the word for it, I would say it's smooth and moist on the lip. It's a low maintenance lipstick and I could just put it on my bare lip and it would look good without blending or anything on top.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake
Surprise, surprise, this is the first Revlon lip butter that I've purchased. I know in the makeup world everybody loves it and has at least one or two of them, but I don't know why I never interested of buying them, maybe that it the reason. If I have to pick one among all the colors, I would go for Sweet Tart rather than Strawberry Shortcake, anyway I got one and I like it. I like how smooth that is when applying it and this color just so fun and girly. Luckily this is a blue toned pink but looks quite nice on me.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Pearl )in Wink for Pink
A rosy pink with slightly coral, this is one of the flattering shade for fair skin to wear. The color, interesting enough, is identical to Revlon Pink in the Afternoon (creme). I say this is a different version of pink in the afternoon, a bit of sheer, quite moist on the lip and with shimmer in it. I found myself always fell for color in this range because they suits my skin color. This one without a doubt will become a stable favorite of mine.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pink Pop
Cute and fun would describe this well. This is what I would call a barbie pink, a color that is fun to wear and makes you look cute and girly. I am never a lipgloss lover and lipgloss probably is the least product I would mention. I own a few lipgloss from this line, the color, the texture and even the packaging just got me. I couldn't resist to this beauty and it would be fun to wear at summer times.
NYX  Pumpkin Pie, Revlon Lip Butter Strawberry Shortcake, Revlon Lipstick Wink for Pink, Revlon Lipgloss Pink Pop

Besides all the lippies, I also got the Sally Hansen Nail & Cuticle oil and L'oreal True Match Supper-blendable powder in classic ivory. Haven't been doing my nails for months, I felt embarrassed not because I haven't got any color on but the dead skin and dry cuticles on my nails. I am so eager to get back to my routine now and cuticle oil: a must have for me. On to the powder, I wanted a lighter shade powder to wear on top of foundation and doing touch-up during the day, never tried any L'oreal powder before and I found this one it was on clearance for less than 3 bucks (YEAH~ ).

Hope you enjoyed my haul and thanks for reading.

Spring Beauty Haul

Beauty Haul 3.6.13

 MAC Select Sheer
Wanted a powder I can carry in my bag and good for traveling. When I was in MAC counter looking around, the sales lady suggested this powder to me. Select sheer has a sheer coverage, texture is silky and goes on lightly, the packaging is less bulky, has a mirror inside, and the closure is very secure. I thought "wow, this is the perfect one!" so I ended up bring it home with me. It provides a decent sheer coverage, it's not completely matte so still allows natural skin peek through which I really liked.  It also last long and make me mostly shine free through out the day.
Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Cream SPF38 PA+++
The best sunscreen ever for face. Honestly, never experienced a sun protection product that is oil free, light, hydrating, smoothes skin surface and has high SPF. I wear it on the daily basis now, without or under makeup. It is so great,  helps my face makeup last even longer.

Real Techniques Shading Brush and Blush Brush
I added these two RT brushes to my collection recently. The shading brush I use for buffing in concealer under my eyes and around my nose area, it works amazing. The blush brush I find it to be too soft for applying blush. It doesn't performs well sweeping the color on and blends out evenly, but I find it perfect for applying powder. I use it to apply MAC Select Sheer now and it works great.

Philip B Peppermint & Avocado Shampoo
This is a volumizing and clarifying shampoo. I heard lots of good things about it and my hair is stress me out recently, so I though to give it a try. I have oily roots and dry ends, this shampoo known as "scalp invigorator and root booster", it will get rid of all the oil build up and gradually your roots are not as oily as before. So far I really like it. It has a cooling effect when massaging it on the roots, very refreshing especially in the morning. My hair is very lightweight and soft, silky after using this, but not that much a difference of volumizing. I will have a full review on this after some time.

Lately (Makeup, ebay, ...)

face: coastal scents camo quad, nars orgasm, maybelline baby lips pink punch

Lately, I am obsessed with the camo quad by coastal scents. I had it for a really long time, usually I use this for spot concealing but I recently found it works so well for my dark circles. I have the medium one, by mixing the two middle shades together, I got a perfect color covering my dark circles. It's really creamy and thick so it works amazing covering up any imperfections. I don't know what's in this concealer, but really the finish is amazing, I feel it has the ability reflect the light. (The top was broken and it's really messy so I won't be showing you the colors. )

Anther item that I am obsessed recently is half lashes. I purchased this full size lashes a while back for my blog post, this is the Andrea 21 Black.  I like to cut it in half and trim a little bit so I can wear them on the regular day basis. It's very natural on, but really makes a difference.

Nars Orgasm
Nars Sweet Dreams
Del Cosmetics, pink fetissh

My packages came in the mail today, the makeups are all from Stephanie. Really surprised that she send me an extra lip gloss, it's by the brand Dle Cosmetics, which I never heard of. The color is a really pretty shimmery pink, and the packaging is just  "wow", it has a mirror as you can see and it lights up when twist open!
The Pink iphone Case is from eBay. It has four colors I think, but I end up pick the pink one. The quality is fine, made of plastic, very light and thin, but very slippery in my hand, made me always afraid I will drop it.
Body lotion by Bath&Body Works. Purchased this last summer. I finished my other one called apple blossom citrus and just start to use this one. The scent is sweet and has the lemon and vanilla smell, really enjoy this right now.
Last but not least, I got a scarf from H&M, I love the pattern of it and the mix of pink and neon colors.

My Current Makeup Storage

I have this vintage style jewelry box on my desk to store my everyday makeup products. It has lift lid and two drawers, I love the color, the pattern. It's a really decent size box that holds a lot of things, overall I really like it, it has made things so much easier and quicker for me in the morning.

I have my rest makeup in the desk drawers, using these plastic bins for different makeup categories. So far this setup works for me because I don't have too much stuff and also because I have most eye shadows deported so that saved a lot of space for me.
