Influenster Blossom VoxBox

I am very excited about the Blossom VoxBox from Influenster. Days before the box came out I've seen the video about what's inside. Even though I am most excited about the beauty products, let's start from the snack and food first.

Beanitos Bean Chip
I don't think I ever had any black bean chips before, so this is the first try. I am not a fan of chips in general, but I think these chips are very good. It's made of black beans, very unique flavor. It's well seasoned but not too salty, it contains fiber and protein but very low calories.

Bear Naked Granola
Oh I love these granola, it is so crunchy. It comes in little small packaging, just the right amount, very easy to grab and go and taste so good with yogurt and fruits.

Nasoya Pasta Zero Noodles
I love pasta, all kind. These pasta noodles are very different though, it's all natural and contains very low calorie and carb. These noodles are easy to cook and I prefer to pan fry with some veggie and cheese to make it more tasty. If you are on a diet or you want to eat something that will make you feel full but still has low calorie and carb intake, this is a good choice.

On to the beauty products, my Blossom VoxBox contains these products:

Hair Food Root Cleansing Shampoo
This is a cleansing shampoo for deep cleaning your hair, removes buildup and oils. It can also be used as a regular shampoo and that is what I use it for. It has a very unique strawberry and ginger blend, I never seen it before but I like the scent. Nothing overwhelming or too strong but you definitely smell both scent, it has a cooling sensation, very refreshing. The shampoo makes my hair squeaky clean and super soft and silky.

NYC New York Color City Proof 24HR Eye Shadow
This brand is very familiar to me and I like their quick dry nail polishes. This product is a waterproof eye shadow, claims to last on the lids without fading or creasing. I received the color Tribeca Taupe, it's a grey/taupe color, reminds me of the Maybelline Color Tattoo tough as taupe, actually I think this is a dupe for it.The packaging is very nice, it has well exceed the expectation. Even though this isn't the color that suits me, but the eye shadow itself is very good, glides easily, nice color payoff and doesn't transfer or crease.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs
The well known airbrush legs by Sally Hansen, I think all girls need to have this if you are going to wear dress or shorts. It applies thinly and doesn't take long to dry, the color I got is light which is very natural once blend. It makes the skin looks better and flawless. I also like that is very quick and convenient.

Equitance Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF36
Sunscreen is a must have in my daily routine so I'm glad to receive this one that has SPF36. This is a physical sunscreen, come out in the liquid form. It has brightening effect and also can be used as a makeup primer. It blends well into the skin and doesn't feel heavy or greasy, also wears well under makeup. I really like it.

So that is all in the Blossom VoxBox, I am very very impressed with all the products they sent out in this box. I think it was well organized and they've put in a lot of thought to it. I have positive feedback on these products and I can't wait for them to hit the shelves. I would want to see the whole color selection of the NYC Eye Shadow stick since I am a beauty addict. Also I would like to purchase the Hair Food Cleansing Shampoo if I run out the current bottle.

RocksBox | May, 2015

RocksBox is my first monthly subscription box for Jewelry. I think the idea of renting Jewelry to wear is very practical. With RocksBox, you get 3 personalized pieces each box, they allow you to refresh the Jewelry anytime and as often as you want. For $19 a month I think it's a very good deal. My first box arrived about a week or so after I took the style survey, it was well packaged and the shipping was very quick.
There's a greeting card on top after you open the box and tells you what's inside, it also includes a brief feedback section allow you to write how you like the pieces. And here are what's in my box.

Sophie Harper Bracelet  $56
Kendra Scott Earrings $65
Wanderlust & Co. Stacking Rings $35

Overall, I am very satisfy of all the pieces I got, I always wanted an infinity bracelet! Dainty and elegant Jewelry are my favorites and that is what I had on my profile. I think simple pieces are easy to style and good for everyday wear.  I say the quality of the pieces are also very good and the total value of my May RocksBox is around $150.

If you are interested, I have a promo code xubff for you to get your first box for free (apply at check out).

Thanks for reading!

April Favorites | 2015

I have a little bit of everything for the month of April, skin care, makeup, hair but majority of them is from one brand, L'oreal. What a coincidence!
Starting from the skin care category, I only have one favorite this month and it's the Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-oil. My skin doesn't like oils, I've learned that after trying the clarins facial oil, fresh seaberry oil, ole henriksen, etc. Until I met this one by the body shop. This vitamin E overnight serum is a miracle on my skin. It's not greasy or oily, very light and doesn't take long to sink in. The result is I woke up with better skin every morning if I put this on at night. My overall complexion is much brighter, looks like I was well-rested even when I wasn't.

Makeup favorites of the months first is the L'oreal True Match Natural Mineral concealer. This isn't new, I had this for a very long time and I totally forgot about it. It is the best powder for setting concealer under the eyes, It adds coverage, brightens and sets everything in place. No need to worry about creasing or fading, it helps my concealer lasts all day. It is probably discontinued, but I think you can still find it online.

Next item is the Lo'real Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel Mascara. I was very excited to get this because I've read great review and I really in need of a brow mascara to fix my sparse brows. I like that it tinted the brows, very easy to use and will set the brow in place. It contain fibers but very very tiny so it doesn't adds more hair to my brows.  I will use a brow pencil to fill in my brows then finishing it with this mascara. It definitely makes my brows looks fuller and make the color last all day.

For lip product of the month, it must be the Jordana Easyliner for lips. I really like this brand, it is super inexpensive, easy to get and they often have some great products, like their Best Lash Mascara .  Their lip liner is the best you can find in the drugstore. They have many different shades from nudes to pinks and reds. It's retractable, great color payoff, stay on well and it costs like $2 each.  I have three different shades Baby Berry, Tawny, Sedona Red. My favorite out of the three is Baby Berry. For the past month, I like to pair it with the Rimmel Lip Lacquer in Nova in the center of the lips, it creates a nice gradient effect.

Last but not least, the hair product of the month is the L'oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray. This is a really great find of the month. This serves as a heat protection spray and a primer spray for hair styling. I feel like it helps shorten the blow dry time but not a significant difference. It does makes my hair very soft and more manageable, it also smells good.

That's it for the all the favorites for the month of April. Thanks for reading.

March Favorites | 2015

Starting from the skin care favorites of the month first I have the NUXE Nirvanesque Eye Contour. This is an anti-aging eye treatment, I've been using this about two months now and I can positively say it works wonder. This is the eye cream that I can actually see the difference before and after. It's very light and sink in quickly, it does nice job brighten my under eye area, getting rid of puffiness and makes me look less tired and more awake. This is not a super nourishing type of product if you have extra dryness, but it hydrates just enough for me.

Next I have The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum.  I find it can be tricky to find a serum that I can use everyday both morning and night. Oil type serum isn't my favorite, because I find it can be a little too oily to use in the morning with moisturizer, and my makeup doesn't last on top.  This serum has a very light lotion like texture, feels really nice and soothing once absorbs. My skin response really well with this. It softens, hydrates and provides just the right amount of nourishment.

Beauty favorites of the month in the makeup category, I have to start with this gorgeous blush. This is the Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush. It has the cutest packaging, and it does matters to me. I feel like it's rare to find makeup that is this cute from the drugstore, it looks nice on my vanity and it also looks good on my cheeks. It has four different shades in the pan, together it creates a beautiful soft pink.

Next favorite is the NYX Butter Gloss in vanilla cream pie. I am not a fan of lip glosses so I don't normally want to purchase them becasue I don't use them. This one I picked it up becasue I've heard a lot good things and CVS was having a deal on these so for less than a dollar I figured why not. This color vanilla cream pie is a wearable everyday pink. It has enough color payoff to wear alone or layer on top of lip liner. It wears comfortable, not too thick or sticky.

Another great find of the month is the Covergirl Trublend Fixstick. I was running low on concealer so I purchased this after watching this video by Karima McKimmie. I'm never a fan of covergirl products except their outlast 3 in 1 foundation. But this concealer blow me away, it is so good and make me want to try more of their products. It comes with a pen form, but don't let it make you think it's going to be very dry and hard to blend. This concealer is very creamy and easy to blend with either fingers or a brush. It has great coverage, covers well under the eyes, or for dark spots. It stays well and doesn't crease or oxidize. I have the shade light, and it's perfect for concealing all my imperfection.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush, NYX Butter Gloss in vanilla cream pie, Covergirl Trublend Fixstick in light.

That's it for this post, thank you for stopping by.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover

This is what I currently use for removing eye makeup and as you can see from the picture I am already half way through the bottle so it's time for a review.  Purchased it two months ago when The Body Shop was having a 40% off sale. This makeup remover claims can efficiently remove the most stubborn waterproof eye and lip make-up. It is fragrance, color and alcohol free, which is very good if you have sensitive skin.
This is a dual-phase makeup remover, so you do need to shake it before using it and from my past experiences with this type of formula, I can positively tell that it can remove waterproof mascara and eyeliner. After using it for two months, I say it does a fine job removing all the eye makeup, quite easily but it still takes two to three wiping to take everything off. Compare to some other similar type of product, such as the Maybelline one or the Lumene one, they works equally as good. I say no difference for eye shadows or lipsticks but for the stubborn waterproof mascara, like the L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara, it seems like this works easier and faster.

Repurchase? Definitely yes, especially it's often on sale.  But there are some other options to choose for a better price if on a budget, such as the Sephora one or my favorite Lumene one

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain #15 Rose Vinyl

When I decided to treat myself a little something last year around Christmas, this beauty was on top of my wish list. I own a decent amount of makeup products, cosmetics, but I rarely spend on luxury products becasue I don't think those are the essentials that I had to have especially there are so many affordable options out there from the drugstore. But when Sephora's annual event came with the discount to purchase, I couldn't resist anymore so I placed my order.
I was initially deciding between this and the Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick #9 Caress Pink and I finally made my mind to get the glossy stain this time. When it comes to the color selection, after seeing swatches I knew this color #15 Rose Vinyl was the one I want. It would look good with my complexion and in fact this color is very easy to wear and suits a lot of skin tone.

In terms of formula and consistency, I think this is usually where the drugstore product can't compete with high end ones. The YSL glossy stain has great pigmentation, glossy and radiant but still feels very light and moist on the lips. The formula is great, easy to spread over, making it so versatile to wear. It can wear very thinly like a stain for a touch of color; it can also be wear as a bright and intense statement color. My favorite way is to wear it like a gradient lip color, darker in the center and lighter towards the outer part. My lips naturally has very little pigmentation, so longevity is another big reason why I'm so impressed and so in love with the glossy stain. With this I don't need to worry about touching up for 4-5 hours. Even after drinking and eating, it still left with some color on my lips.

I heard L'oreal Color Riche Lip Stain is a possible dupes for this, I haven't try it but very curious to know how it compares. But even if the dupes is close I would still prefer to have the YSL one. It cost a little more but in my opinion product like this is worth to invest.  I haven't stopped loving it since I had it and it has already became my favorite lip product to wear for all occasions.

January Favorites | 2015

January is a good month in general, except for the weather here in New York. It's been forever since I updated my blog and I am very sorry for those of you who subscribed. I am trying to get things going after having a baby and today I decided it's time to back to my blog and do the January favorites.

Laura Mercier foundation primer, oil free:  My skin has changed a lot after the whole pregnancy. I am trying very hard to keep it clear and keep all the irritation away. But for some reason most my foundations are not looking as good as before.  My pores are obvious than ever and my face became oily after 3 hours. I switched to different foundations and BB and CC creams but nothing would looks good for some reason. That's when I realized that I need to use a primer or a setting spray to make it better. What I like about this primer is that is wears beautifully under thin and matte foundation, making skin looks naturally beautiful. It also extend wear time and keeping my skin feeling hydrated.

Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner in Black: The packaging looks really similar like the physicians formula eye booster but this is a lot better. It really is the best drugstore liquid liner that I tried, the color is intense and the finish is matte. The tip is really thin and flexible, making it easy to control, you can get so close to the lash line and it wing out so nicely. It sets instantly and doesn't move or fade away.

Jordana 12HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil: I spotted these when they were on clearance at Walgreen's. Never try it before but since I always had good luck with the brand in the past and it's super inexpensive so I want to give it a try. Turns out they are very good. I have a brown and a black, both matte. The way I like to use it is with an angle brush to line my eyes. To prevent it from transferring I will set it with a powder shadow on top. It gives a much softer look than the liquid liner. These reminds me a lot of the Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Stick, I say they both have good color payoff, the Rimmel one sets better.

YSL Glossy Stain 15 Rose Vinyl: Purchased it last year before Christmas and I haven't stop loving it ever since. This is the makeup item that I have wanted for a very long time. The packaging is chic and beautiful so is this color. It looks very flattering on my skin tone and I love the formula. It apply very thin, cool to feel and like water, but it's pigmented and shiny. It wears very comfortable and stay gorgeous on the lips. I will do a separate post later on for more details and pictures.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rose Shimmer: Bought it after seeing it on many beauty blogs. After using it for months I have to agree that it is a beautiful lip gloss. It looks great on any lip color, even those lipstick that are not flattering, it can make it looks good. It adds shine and it smooth everything, making my lips looks fuller. However, the pigmentation is sheer in this shade particular, it doesn't show well on my lips by itself so I don't like to wear it lone.

ZOYA Brigitte: This is the first color from the brand that I wanted to get. So when ZOYA was having their promotion in January, I ordered Brigitte and two pixi dust nail polish. Without seeing this color in person, I was worried that it would not good look against my skin tone, but turns out my first instinct was right, it was beautiful. Among all the color I received, this is the one I like the most. I am not a big fan of the Pixi dust nail polish, I like solid neutral colors better. I think those color looks most flattering on my skin tone. ( brigitte is darker in real life than in the picture)

That's it for the January favorites, I hope you enjoy it. I also wanted to do a fashion favorites with some of my purchases later. Have a good one and thanks for stopping by.
